ink painting Collection
I never tire of the ever changing properties when painting with black ink. Its nature is shade, contrast and depth and climbs a scale from the slightest shadow to an intense obsidian black pulling you in and letting you go depending on its relationship with water. Finding the shape of my subject as it emerges from the ink, every contour and crevice it’s own shade, highlights picked out with small amounts of gold is a process both challenging and rewarding as there are so many opportunities for it to go wrong but when it goes right I am left with a piece of art that I hope, elevates it’s subject into something new and wonderful.
It’s impossible to get the same result twice , I could paint any subject any number of times and it will always result in an individual piece so if you see something here you would like that’s already sold please just contact me with your request.
